Jonesz, your rebuilder probably has everything needed to do the job properly.

I won't go into detail as to how it happened because I don't want to bore you but the armature of my original starter was toast. I was on a budget so I rolled the dice on got a cheap Chinese clone stater from Amazon and so far it's been working great for the past 2 years. Keep in mind though that I don't ride my Gl1100 on a regular basis so therefore the starter isn't used regularly so saying "It's been working great for the past 2 years" but not using the bike on a regular basis isn't a proper long term evaluation if you know what i mean.
