I think I’ve just created ‘my little pony’s’ first Goldwing... this will be in primer as soon as the clear has dried... I need some artistic help...on a positive note got the engine back together and running. The brake parts arrived so I can be busy tomorrow...

It’s one of those lawn watering tractors, I wanted something to shoot the first batch of paint on to make sure there was nothing goofy going on. I’ve ordered some of the plastic practice car shapes along with some 3oz disposable paint cups. Mainly so I can practice cheaply... next try is silver (left over Jeep paint) with black accents. I’m also picking up a spare set of GL1100 body panels tomorrow to take the time pressure off. Hope to get my learners permit in the next week or so.

On another point does anyone know how to get the flip up covers of the faux tank without a full strip down? I nearly drove myself crazy until I did the full strip... seems unnecessary though...

Interesting week, I shelved the fancy paintwork and got a black set from a local shop. I got most of it built up today and took a test ride. It’s much rattlier than I expected, I hope it doesn’t indicate a problem. It also looks like the thermostat housing is leaking... I’m also pretty sure I buggered up the Speedo drive tangs in the front wheel... but I am making progress..

well I took a look for the signal light buzzer on my 82 standard and I can't find it anywhere..something tells me it's under the shelter but I can't be sure. it definitely isn't around the head light.

The left headlight ear has a square hole on the inside frame for mounting the buzzer.

When you say 'rattley' what do you mean? Engine, or other stuff?

Don’t look too closely... I was thinking about a smaller seat and a similar thing for the rear. The front carrier may get some kind of customized luggage to go on it...

The carrier was made from the cut up original contraption that was there.

Yes engine rattle, it’s worse on 5he left side. I’ve set the tappits but not balanced the carbs yet. I need to find another goldwing to compare it to, i5 may be normal...

Can anyone recommend a good source of information for the o rings and or gaskets around the thermostat housing?

The o-ring is 54x2 mm. Honda pn is 91307-MBO-003.
As for the rattle, does it do it at lower RPM'S and under load? It's probably primary chain rattle and it's common, especially if the carbs need syncing or other attention.
