Mine are pccc brand. Made in San Jose, CA. They are at least 20 years old. I got them from a shop that went out of business. No problems at all. Just hang them up like everyone else has said. Keep out of reach of children if you have any around. And pets too.

Same here, just hang them up so they can't be accidentally tipped over.

I've tried a couple different brands of vacuum gauges and did not feel they were as accurate as a mercury stick. The needles tended to bounce back and fourth even with restrictors in place. Maybe they were just cheap sets? I have faith in what I see on my mercury stick, and what I see on my Fluke multimeter.

One other point, Mercury sticks are what Randakk uses in his video. Thats gotta count for something.

If your house's HVAC thermostat is more than 10 years old,, it very likely has 1-3 glass capsules of mercury in it. They used them at switches to turn on and off your heat and/or AC. Mercury is a useful tool, like glycol (antifreeze), but you do not what to consume either.

Gee, I remember playing with mercury in science class as a kid. If a thermometer broke, we would play with the left over mercury. Maybe that is why I am a little on the crazy side. Frank must have played with mercury a lot.
