That may be true, but you better make sure they are a "licensed" motorcycle rider or I will bet insurance will not cover it! Remember, they are Insurance companies and they would NEVER try to find a loophole to not pay! Right!
Yes they have to have a valid drivers license.
that goes without saying.
That being said, no one except very close, and special friends, who I have ridden with extensively, EVER ride one of my bikes.....You know who you are

Yes, but the topic of this thread is an exchange where you probably wouldn't know the person taking your bike! I would not lend me a bike when I was 20-30! I also know some, who are very respectable people till you put a bike between their legs and think they are Eddie Lawson!
I said it was a good idea.....not that I would sign up for the program...and not many people would even want to ride one of my bikes. If I went to Europe I would take my bike with me. (All pending on winning a lottery ofcourse)

There are programs like this for a lot of different things. Cars, boats, homes, condos, etc. Most are managed by companies that do a lot of checking before putting people together. I think, in all honesty, that a person coming from Europe who wants to tour can rent a great bike from most Harley dealers, any place in the country. I'm not sure if the system exists in Europe

Nowhere in Scotland that I know of renting out bikes, not even to the natives. There are places in London that do, but whether they rent to folk from other countries I have no idea.

There used to be a bike rental place in Langholm, they rented Royal Enfield's don't knew if they are still trading
Old Fogey wrote:Short term insurance would be the stumbling block here I think. It can be done, depending on the bikes insurance company, but stand by for the big bill.
that is what I was thinking as well.
