I would not do any more work by hand on that. A ball hone is all I use in that same situation. It may smoke when you are done. But I wouldn't be too concerned until you get a few hundred miles on it. The rings will be stuck. Miles have loosened up many rings in the past.

I agree with fish, put her back together and run it. Will it be perfect? No. Will it run? Most likely. Ride it a bit then decide what direction you want to go with the whole bike, let that help you decide what to do next. Big difference between expectations of a parts runner vs a cross country tourer.

By the way, what part of Montana are you in? I'm on the western edge of the state. We might be 800 miles apart.
