Like the gunmetal look. The flow "lines" between the shelter and side covers looks very good.

Re: Say hello to ‘Dixie’
Tks. The body color is called titanium frost metallic - my first attempt was more of a straight up silver and it was too bright. This is what I was looking for.
Engine is Eastwood 2k engine paint in cast iron color.

Looking VERY clean! And you can never go wrong with silver and black. Truly, a smooth looking motorcycle =)

Re: Say hello to ‘Dixie’
So…input requested. I’m prototyping a gauge cluster, but I’m undecided if I should even bother. I’m basically adding a voltmeter and water temp meter, but after 3-4 prototypes I feel like it’s clunky and blows the simplicity of just the main pod (see prior thread photos).
Something like this:
Obv I’d have to build it up with either fiberglass or metal but you get the idea.
So opinions…do I even bother or just leave it as is with just the main gauge? Is there another way I can get a water temp warning without a full gauge? Such as an led that lights up over/under a certain resistance? (I could rig up a microcontroller but that’s way overkill imo)

I agree. A little clunky as is. However, I would blend the sides of the gauge plate into the headlight, to make it flow better. But then I love gauges. My 78 has 10 of them

Re: Say hello to ‘Dixie’
Yeh so what you see there is kind of the "2D shape", i would definitely make it more of a box with some depth and height, if that makes sense. and angle it back toward the driver a bit as well.
I like the idea of making it kind of flow with the headlight - lemme mess with that a bit..
..and i am also a bit of a gauge geek. i swapped the incandescent backlight bulbs in those smaller iequus gauges for blue LEDs

I like the look of the volt and temp gauges. I have seen that name brand, but can't place were. Do they work well?

Re: Say hello to ‘Dixie’
I found them on Amazon or eBay - can’t remember which offhand.
They are good quality and reasonably priced with good documentation.
I replaced the stock incandescent backlights on them with a blue led just for style points.

Re: Say hello to ‘Dixie’
I’m also thinking about a front fender redo
I don’t like how the front is assymetrical with the back. A case of me improvising and cutting here and there and ultimately took too much off the front part.
