It's finally completely broken down. Off to the powder coater tomorrow. Then it's final detail to all the little bits.

Dropped all the stuff off at the powder coater. Also got the exhaust flange welded and the mount stud welded back on.
I also welded up the swing arm where the previous owner decided to grind off the seam for clearance.

Here are the parts back from the powder coater. I also had the exhaust and wheels sandblasted at the same place.
Good quality and the price was right. I couldn't blast and paint them for what's I paid.

Sweet! Since powder coating tends to find its way into the threaded holes you may want to run appropriate taps thru the thread prior to installing everthing. Makes reassembly much less frustrating.

I didn't have to clean the tank, it's spotless on the inside. Very lucky

I'm working on painting the wheels. Then I can mount the tires get the front end on. Engine is getting soda blasted this week in preparation for the paint. Once that is done then the tank can go in, then the swing arm.

You probably realize this, but it is much easier to hook up the throttle cables to the carbs before the tank goes in.
Looks like they did a great job with the powder. It is so much nicer to reassemble a bike when all the parts are or appear to be brand new! Regarding the lump on the tank---that is characteristic of the 1000 series but not the 1100's.
Bikes at present:

And a slightly worse for the wear BMW GS adventure bike awaiting repair
83 GL in process

Yes, the way I disassembled it was super easy, I have a plan for ease of assembly.
Here are some pictures of the Lester wheels I'm painting, Imron is my choice for wheels. I was going to go with Gold, but black will be more menacing.
I forgot to redo the shelter, so I may wait to refinish it, it's actually really nice.
