Finally caught up with some other projects so it is time to get back to work on this. Today is just another coat of mud to try and even out some bad spots. Having color on the walls makes it much easier to identify what will bother me in a couple years when I am laying on my bed in there. Hopefully I will get this down to a dull roar and be able to start moving forward on the porch soon.

First step out there is to move all my equipment from the porch to this room and clean the porch, then lay in some provisions (osb and 2x4's etc etc....). After that I can start ripping off siding and inspecting the wet damage. I know one corner of the outside wall is completely rotted out. I need to figure out where the water came from to cause that before I can fix it. If I can get all 5 window units out and closed up and the siding back up before Spring I think I will be mostly happy with the progress. I do need to make some size decisions and order a couple small windows for lighting soon.

Life got it the way but this project is not dead.

I spent some time in the "new" bedroom this week sanding the mud. Wife will be doing some touchup painting so we can see if the mud work is really done or not. Should be very close. Then I start moving stuff off the back porch. I have accepted that I can not take out those triple window units by myself so I will be contracting that out. There are 5 of those triple units. Hoping I can find a Contractor I can afford that will remove them board up the openings and cover it all with siding. Once that is done I can start on the interior. I ordered 3 windows that we will be installing and they are due in Christmas week. So hope to get this going first of the year or so.

Wife told me yesterday instead of a shower stall she wants a small shower room
So some more design work is needed.

Here is a pic of 1 of the 5 Window units

Picked up the windows I ordered from Home Depot today. Can't believe it was only 11 days. Last time I ordered Windows it was close to 2 months.

Rusty dd get some more color on the walls today, 98 percent of the mud work is acceptable. She also informed me that the color will be changing again so it does not have to be perfect right now. We did compromise on the Shower. It will not be a shower room but a 36 inch deep 60 inch long Handicap accessible stall with a seat. I will cost a fair amount more but I do not have to redo the entire room layout to make it work.

Tomorrow I will start relocating the "shop" from the porch area to the bedroom and do a massive cleanup out there. After that I will be calling to see if a bud will be interested in some work for those big windows. In the mean time I have a few things I can work on out there. The inside walls due to various construction over the last 130 years have several depth levels. Some is a rounded type of clapboard some is a Styrofoam type insulation and some is OSB. So I need to work on that. For the most -part I can probably sheetrock the inside walls. Very little will be going on with those I also need to source some more lighting for out there. Once those15 Window units are all gone it will be dark. I think after the room is empty the drains layout verses the Floor Joists will be the priority to identify.

Contractor just left. He is my Son In Law's, Son In Law. He and his Father will start Demo on Monday. Expect a week for removal of all the Windows and boarding up. They are not real keen on siding so I will see about getting someone else for that. Once that is all done then I can start on the inside wiring and layout. Excited to get rolling on this. Really hope to have this complete this year.

That looks a lot better.

BTW, it seems strange to see pics without a foot of white stuff all over the ground but I shouldn't be surprised because I heard from a friend in Kansas that he had to use his mower today.
