Thanks, its a Sumax harley softail fender. Ebay special. Took me a while to find one that fit exactly between the rear struts. I cut it down to suit the build.

Dave. I made mine from gasket material from auto parts store using razor knife. It will keep the two parts from oxidating together.

yes, replace them, I made mine from gasket material from auto parts store.
It prevents metal parts from oxidating together. I don't think it serves any other function, but I could be wrong.
