I was able to get the heli-coil to work, at least for now. I got the bike off the table today and put a few miles on it with no apparent leaks. I will obviously keep an eye on things.

Thank you for your advice. I will keep those ideas in mind for future reference.

Took BADDOG to the Bank today to deposit funds for the sale of LTD 993, for a guy in Poland. Found a blinker indicator not working so will add some fluid.

Blew off chores yesterday and got out of town for a few hours on the big bike.
It was a beautiful day and I really needed that!!!

Problem is now I have to do the yard work today and it is like 15 degrees hotter than yesterday

Come do your yard work in Michigan. 43F (about 6C) this morning and yard work will require a jacket.

Pulled the carb rack back off the dressed 1000. Pulled the Battery out and put it back in the 1200 and fired that up just for grins. Love how that thing runs. After weeks parked it fires like immediately and settles into a nice idle after just a few seconds of choke. Then I pushed bikes around in the shop and organized a bit. I also picked up a set of used rock rails for the Jeep. One of the jeep contractors is developing a removable step system for the OEM Rock Rails. Exactly what the Better Half needs. Supposed to be ready for shipment by the end of May. Have rescue stuff tomorrow but maybe Saturday or Sunday I can spend a day out there working on things. Starting to run short on time to get chores done. Only 10 days left till Knee Surgery. Need to spend a day going through the yard tools and the Generators and get the oils changed and the fuels freshened up for Hurricane season. That is normally a June 1st chore but best get it done now

Today I updated my custom wiring diagram on the '82 after I added a phone charger. Hard to believe these bikes are becoming '50' this year. Mine still runs amazing.

OK - crazy thoughts. I have an 83 that has a great engine, but after bouncing it around in a ditch a few years ago I have just looked at it in the barn. It needs everything from the frame to the forks, lights and gauges. Then I found this. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 813ea5b00a

I also picked up a boat (in pieces) off the mold for a Spalding Seca sidecar when I was in Texas for the rally in 2016. I really don't need a project. But Hey!
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock SOLD
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted" STILL BUSTED
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 Yamaha XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif

There's no mention of a title... if it were closer I'd snap it up just for the wheels and forks!

Indeed. Those 83 forks are nearly impossible to find.
