Had the first outpatient Therapist session Yesterday. She went over everything and examined where I am. Told me I am a bit behind the curve but manageable. I have asked several healthcare folks how hard I should be pushing into the pain. She finally gave me a solid answer I could accept. She told me that if I start crying or throwing up while I am doing my exercises that I am pushing too hard, otherwise go as hard as I can!!! She advised me to embrace the pain and use the Narcotics to manage the worst of it.

The answer was a bit scary. Sounds like an easy way to get addicted to a narcotic. I would temper the desire to get well with common sense. Only you know what your body is feeling. Take care my friend.

Doing mostly what the physical terrorists tell me. They snuck up and double teamed me yesterday. I was really sore last night.

Went and saw the Ortho again today to talk about my hip. It is a real issue for sleep. They took a bunch of pics and at the end of the visit the conclusion was that it is my back not my hip. I have had 2 spinal surgeries 30 years ago and was diagnosed with Degenerative disc disease 15 years ago so not surprised by that. So now I wait for a appointment with the back guy. The knee/hip guy did not want to start me on oral steroids due to my recent knee surgery. For some reason too many steroids would be bad for my knee recovery?? So I have to wait for the Spine Doc to give me injections. I just need to get through the next few months. As it is right now there is no way I can sit in the truck long enough to make my travel plans.

As for Narcotics abuse that is not a concern. I have had a standing prescription for them for over 10 years for my back. I use them when needed but really dislike what they do to me so abuse is not likely. Also one of my closest friends has had his life destroyed by them so I am very cautious.

The knee is making progress just slow like a snail!!
