These have been sitting for a long time waiting for a solution like this. Some are perhaps too far gone but this would definitey fix most.
This is a particularly poor one. The tops of the towers are eaten. The white covering is a petrol proof epoxy which I wanted to try, to see if the badly pitted jet towers and float pin towers could be saved. The unit has been sitting in a container of fuel for about a month and there is no sign of peeling off.Solution for tower erosion

Re: Solution for tower erosion
I have settled on another improvement. To permanently install the tubes, I will begin adding a very thin coat of Caswell fuel tank epoxy around the brass tubes. This unique epoxy is used to coat gas tanks and it hardens. Very good stuff. After it hardens a bit, I will use 5mm and 6mm hand reamers to perfectly size the holes. Making the simple insertion tools is a must for the brass tubing but if you use the rivet method that I described, you can just tap them into place. You do have to file excess material off the rivets, but it makes a nice flat surface. Either method works great, so give it a try and rescue some old carbs. Here is the stuff I will use:
