Is done but just barely. Passenger side required fire and the big hammer. The outer hub (steering knuckle) was rusted onto the upper ball joint. no amount of normal persuasion was going to break it free. I had to get serious and break out the torch and the sledge.

Job is done and test ride is good "again". The front end on these Jeeps is definitely below Par. Pretty sure that I will end up replacing everything under there over time.

Thanx for the motivation.
I had 4 rollers hauled away by the ‘metal man’ a few months back, but I just couldn’t dig into the parts pile. I know I gotta…. But that doesn’t make it easier. I’ll keep the good stuff that looks good from my easy chair. Starting today I’m going on a parts diet. 100lbs. a week and I should have it thinned out in a few years……

Our trash barrels are the large ones picked up by the trash truck hydraulic arms. For the last three weeks I was able to fill it. That does not include the stuff I put out for the metal scavengers. I have put a serious dent in the piles with the easy stuff. Next week I have to start really sorting.

He was. Young Navy guys so I did not give it away but I did let them negotiate me down a touch so they would feel good about it. I needed the space in the shop more than I needed the money. Hopefully it serves him well.

Now to get the dressed 1000 running so I can list that one.

Did some reorganizing and cleaning this morning. Got the Fulmer Bike over out of the storage side. Pulled the carb rack out (755s) Will start on those tomorrow probably. I do have a set of 77 carbs on the shelf but cannot remember if I rebuilt them or not. Will open both racks tomorrow and pick the best.

Yea it is!!!

Hopefully it will be someone else's in a couple weeks

I got the carbs tore down and cleaned today. Got sidetracked so I will have to build them up and install another day. I guess she has sat a lot longer than I recall as the gas in the tank was a nasty yellow, so it got drained. Need to fill that with fresh and flush the lines and pump before the carbs go back on. Also needs a Battery so will probably snag the 1200 battery for the meantime.

Absolutely loving all the space in the shop so it is really motivating me to get rid of this one also. If I can go down to 2 and keep it that way life will be good. I obviously can not keep up with 4.

Knee surgery the second week of May and the Doc said no bike for 4 Months. I can not remember the last time I went 4 months without a ride. I think it was probably my last long deployment in the Navy which was 98 I think.

My plan is to keep the 84S and the 1800. Long term I could see a Nicer 84S (or Bagger) or maybe sink some money into this one to clean her up some. The 1800 is Okay for a couple more years I think. Both of those are knocking on the 100,000 mile mark. For maintenance and riding purposes I can keep up with those 2. Even though we have done Many Many Many thousands of miles together, with my short legs the dressed 1000 has never been my favorite bike. It has felt like every time I stop it was even money if she would get dropped. Both the 1200 and the 1800 are lower seating and much more comfortable for me. The 1000's have been sitting way too much, so they need to move on to someone that will hopefully enjoy them.

I do have a few desirable items I will be listing for sale, but again I have issues with shipping. I have a 1000 Corbin gunfighter, a rebuilt early 78 rack, and a pair of Lesters I can no longer justify keeping. Local pickup or starting August 1st I will be driving my truck across the States so there will be a possibility of a meet up/delivery there depending on location.

Put a "good" trike kit on the 1800. Ride it for many more years. My dad has over 300,000 miles on his. Two alternators are the biggest things it has needed. One starter solenoid. Only had to make valve adjustments once.

Once I get this knee fixed I hope I am still a decade or more from needing a trike. I really do enjoy riding a 2 wheeler and do not intend to give it up without a fight.
