Take a little jumper of wire and run it directly from the neg battery terminal to the Condensor housing. See if that does anything

Re: Popping out exhaust
Good tip. I did replace the condensor last week and made sure all grounds where good and clean. Both condensors whete new but i had to try. There is a ground from the condensor direct to battery neg.Whiskerfish wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 8:03 pmTake a little jumper of wire and run it directly from the neg battery terminal to the Condensor housing. Re: Popping out exhaust
Happy to report the popping is gone. Maybe it felt threatened watching me tear down the old set of carbs. Lol
Or the cleaning last week had a delayed reaction
Could be the short rides every chance I get burning a fresh tank of fuel through.
Whatever the case, I started it to warm the boots before pulling the carburetors back off, and noticed it had not popped even after warmed up. I readjusted the low speed jet, and it actually made a noticeable difference this time. I did the idle drop as WF recommended and went for a 20 mile ride. Never ran better, no pops, much smoother through 4200 RPM and cylinder #1 was up to normal Temps.

Glad you got her out to the Holland Pier. That is what it takes to prove the problem is solved. Enjoy your ride.
