Too many bikes?

I had to update my current bike list.
My wife of thirty four years wanted to buy me one new bike to replace the five I have now.
I told her that was a good idea, but it would have to be two bikes if I was to cover all my riding styles. That wound up being three bikes to do everything I can imagine, and she agreed.
So now I have eight bikes, but I feel like I need every one of them. My old two stroke racing bike, my vintage trail bike, my canyon carver, and the cruiser and cafe' Goldwings that I rebuilt myself. Now I have a street legal enduro racer, a dualsport, and a real cruiser. Am I greedy to want to keep them all?
The wife says I should keep them, and I do have a really big garage, so I guess I will just keep all of them, since she said so... dancr

Problem with that many bikes is finding the time to ride them and keep them in good condition, i.e. not sitting too long neglected in a corner. If you can pull it off then go for it.

You, ... are a lucky man! By all means, keep every bike you can enjoy. You can't take it with you so enjoy it here. Some of the bikes I'm enjoying right now won't run for some time, but it's the building of them that gives me pleasure.

Been there and it is a chore in Northern climates, as the carbs and brakes don't like long layups. Batteries even the AGM types are hard to keep alive over a number of years. Reno NV is an ideal area with likely year round riding for you. I used to have 4 bikes on the road, down to 3 this year and plan on 2 or less next year.

Great that you have the garage space, since that has become an issue for me now. I am at my limit of 7 in the garage and 3 in the family room. :-D :crosso

1978 Kawasaki KZ650B - running (sweetly, I might add).
1985 Yamaha Virago XV700N - running; persnickety carbs - but Running!
1964 Honda Dream 305 - running
1976 KZ400 - Not running - but wants to.
1968 Puch GSG 250(and parts bike right behind it) - running.
1979 KZ400H - not running; yet.
And (tough to see) 1960's Puch DS60 - not running, yet.
And bringing up the rear (waaaay in the back) - a 2004(?) Chinese knockoff 50cc pit bike; looks like it has blue wheels. Ostensibly for my grandson.
Not Seen: 1978 GL1000 on the slab in the lab...

Still, what sagebrush and kerryb say is pretty accurate - they do Not like to sit. But honestly...? I can't think of any other bikes I want....well, okay: a 1978 Honda SuperSport 750 would be cool...maybe a 1976 GL1000 in Sulfur Yellow...
But "Other Than That"...! lolol

kerryb: that '79 KZ400H ltd is a PITA to find parts for; I finally found a pair of serviceable pistons for THAT bike after searching for over a year, but there is not much else out there for that year and model under the part numbers the manual specifies, the piston pin shoulders are pretty unique to that bike. The front cam chain guide is also darn near unobtainable, unless you want to pay premium prices for it - there's' ONE on eBay that I found for $115, but I wound up just sticking it back onto the aluminum part with Weldwood contact cement - it was just glued on anyway. The Weldwood holds better than Pliobond 25, and no need to bake it. Got any pics of that '78 SuperSport...?

Cyborg - yeah, and it looked so huge when it was new! 25x30, I think it is. anim-cheers1

Sorry no pics of the SS at this time, and after getting a2 foot of snow last night, there won't be any untill it melts.
