Well the float bowl vents are clean..checked all the ports and they are all clear. I put the old jets and needle back in the carb. The holes in the kit slow jet look smaller then the old one and I also checked the float level.
Something I didn't do the first time
According to the owners manual the float arm should be at 17mm's. However it doesn't say from what. I went with the assumption the bottom of the float to the bottom of the carb body.
This is what I discovered..
That is out a huge amount if I'm measuring it correctly..which I have doubts I am because the bike ran good before the carb "rebuild". fly into a rage

I also checked the float level with the carb upside down just in case...
this is what it showed.

uh-oh..I think I put Mike to sleep..or he shook his head and walked away.
Reset teh float level, double checked all the ports. None blocked.
She started right up, gave it some throtle and it coughed a bit, cleared her throat and had good throttle response. Let it rev up for a minute or two, let it idle back down and it quit.
It wants to start and it did a couple of times, ran for a few seconds then quits with a backfire thru the carb.
Something tells me this is more then a fuel issue..

no worries. I discovered another issue in this attempt. The spark plug wire was arching all over the place.
I had pulled the plug to check and clean it and I rolled the engine over a few times to blow the gas out of the cylinder as the plug was wet (yahoo..it's getting fuel now)
the plug wire was almost an inch from the frame and it was arcing to it when I hit the starter button..
This rabbit hole is getting deep. lol
