Went for a ride, stopped by Ron's house ....

Post by 914Driver »

Ron's got an Eddie Lawson replica Kawasaki, but he really enjoys smaller bore stuff. He's got two or three Yamaha 650s, two Suzuki 200 or 250s and a Hodaka, but he spends quality time with his 23 Hondas. Ron insures and tags four bikes per season so everyone gets a little road time.

LOVE the Super 90s, but I would look like the circus bear on a bike!

Had an XL350 back in the day. That was my constant companion for a couple years till I left for the Military.

Yup, the T500. I had a buddy who bought one and I was riding a 650 Triumph at the time. Needless to say, I was sniffing that two-stroke smoke a lot. It flew.

That FT500 ASCOT is exactly the same as the one I owned back in the day. A few other machines in that bunch bring back some memories too. But, gotta ask: I know it's a Honda site, but why no pics of the ELR? By far my favorite bike of all time . . .

I want an FT500, someday.
Was a parts rat at a Honda dealership when they came out.

Refreshing to see someone with more bikes than me!

Gents;
My first motorcycle was a Super 90. At 230+ and over 6' tall I was a wee bit out of proportion. But is typical Honda fashion it tolerated my abuse for years. Red line runs into Montreal at a giddy 70MPH at whatever it revved to, I'd say 9000+ for over an hour. Then I inherited a blown up XL350. I put a big bore kit in it and a Megacycle roller cam kit (the reason for said blowup). That twigged my love for big single 4 strokes.

Coworker & friend, we both retired. He's just Ron. Did a lot of racing "back in the day" (hate that term) but he's pretty quick in the mountains. I could barely keep up on a V-45 Magna and he had a 305 Super Hawk. =~ (

Some guys do not need power! I think they just make it happen with being so smooth! Try following Cyborg some time.
