Semi-retired: Line of business is time and attendance systems. Fancy name for time clocks, as in payroll. Computer software, badge systems and biometrics. Also repair all types of standard clocks. I've been in this business since 1973. Started my own business in 1992. Work from home and by myself. Decided to go out on my own when my last employer downsized by one. Told myself I would never let another man decide my fate. Two years later I bought him out and I have never looked back.

Tom, Do you clean and adjust Railroad watches?

I've just purchased a Hamilton 992B and wish to find someone I can trust when it needs work.

Sorry Zacsdaddy I don't (can't) work on watches any more. Finger dexterity and eyesight aren't what they used to be. Clocks and motorcycles, so far so good. Thanks for asking though. By the way, my dad worked for and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. He started out manually laying track (gandy dancer) and retired as a machine operator that laid the track. Hard working man. My older brother ended up with his watch. Boo!! Tom

I agree.

There are no cool nicknames for my job, just "desk jockey", "pencil pusher"

But gandy dancer is a cool title for sure.
