OldGold13 Intro (13 years a member)

Post by OldGold13 »

Hey all! I'm OldGold13, having been a member for 13 years now. I have been a Goldwing owner since 1983, when I traded my 1972 Honda CB500 for a black 1979 GL1000. It was a full dress with a Vetter fairing, saddlebags, and trunk...a gorgeous machine with low miles. I also searched for and found a pristine 1976 LTD that I traveled nearly 800 miles to bring home.
I love riding the Colorado Rockies with my Goldwings. I still haven't found a way to post photos of my bikes and bike trips, so I'll work in this. I've only been an occasional visitor until more recent years when I began dreaming about modifying my '79. I have been customizing it for a few years now and am getting close to transforming her into a beautiful bike. I hope to soon post the resulting, one-of-a-kind bike. And I'm glad I can often peruse the postings to get ideas for maintaining and fooling around with my Goldwings...since I have no interest in newer bikes, but love my GLs!

Proud owner of:
customized '79 Black GoldWing, owned since '83
totally original '76 GoldWing LTD, 8900 miles; a Triumph TR6...a red car, wishin' it were a TR6 bike; 91 Porsche 944S2, low miles; 53 MGTD on blocks.
