Do turn a blinker on at idle and see if it misses more.

You got it. Choke on number 2 isn't rotating properly. What would hang it up? Is there a spring in there? I must have missed something when I linked the carbs back together. The other 3 rotate 90 degrees. This one opens about 30 degrees. It's choked all the time. What's the fix?

Here is the fix. When I took that boot off, the little tab that my finger is touching was bent all the way up touching the second tab above. So when the choke came off it wasn't rotating the butterflies on either of the carbs on the left side. I can't wait until tomorrow to see how she runs.

I've learned (from one of the gurus) to use the garnish to keep the two bodies on each side together for a rebuild, preventing the need to disassemble and reassemble throttle and choke links between them. Simplifies a rebuild a lot, but requires a US cleaner big enough to hold the pair.

Doesn't help with bent linkages, though. Lots of photos and studying photos by others helps that.

After synchronizing again the bike runs really good. Still need to do the idle drop procedure to set mixture screws. Number 2 spark plug still has a little carbon but 80 percent better.

The idle drop procedure is mainly for polution control. Follow Randakk's (and others) suggestion on this.
