The 77 I have ,the wheels pop when I roll it around the spokes feel tight. Whats up?
I ride a 1977 Honda Goldwing almost like the one I bought brand new in 1977 but sold over 20 years ago.Now I'm back riding my Goldwing and love every minute I get to enjoy the back roads of Central Florida. And as always I ride naked.

Are you certain it's the wheels? Is it both, front and rear? All the time, or occasionally? How loud? There are a few things that could make noise while moving. First thing that comes to mind is the u- joint, another would be the drive flange/ final drive gears. I'd also check for any loose bits that might be dragging on the wheel.
There was also an odd discovery by a member here involving debris inside the wheel itself (the wheel rim is extruded aluminum welded together, and there is actually a hollow on each side that runs the circumference of the rim).

I will get out there and put a ear to it a little closer, but your comment about ujoint sounds likely. Thanks

You might be able to hear it better if you put it on the centrestand so you can turn the wheels without the bike's weight on them (you will need to jack the front of the engine to lift the front wheel).
