I hesitate to whack it or press it. I gave it a few "love taps" but now I am seeking advice before going further. Thanks in advance.
I used three old longer bolts and threaded them into the water pump and hit the bolt heads with a small hammer. It pushed the pump right out.
I used a #3 phillips to remove the tranny. cover screws. I smacked them first with a brass drift, and they came right out. I was actually suprised how easy they came out. I struggled at first with an assortment of tools, but then realised if you push against the screws really hard while turning they come right, even with the screwdriver angled. Going back with Robin's bolt kit.
