Colors don't change on wires that connect together on the factory harness. If yours does than someone has been in there before and changed things around. Troubleshooting from a distance on this type of problem is impossible. You will have to learn how to read the schematics, buy a multimeter and learn how to use it and then just start troubleshooting one circuit at a time.
I've removed fairings from a couple of different 11100s, all the wires that are located behind the weight will end up being located in the headlight bucket, none are extra and none should be cut.

Here's the link directly to the correct versions of wiring diagrams for your bike. Each version posted is for a different year and/or model, so make sure you are using the right one. The link you posted is for an '87 1200, which is much different.

If you cut the harness BETWEEN the fairing and weight box, you should be pretty good to figure out what goes where. If you cut the harness going to the speedo, tach, and 'dash' as well, then you'll have a lot more figuring to do...

thanks flying900 l tried to post pics but thats diffrenet program then l used to use..l try again later ..it should be simply drag and post..anyway..l will also work on that colored shcematic..
