Any good tips on sprucing up the Comstar?
I have a CB900C for those that don't know and I'm going to do a rear wheel upgrade on the bike. It responds well to a 17" rear in the back over the 16". The question is what can I do to make the comstars look better. I've thought of stripping the paint, then painting them some color, but at that point I lose it. I have no idea of what color to paint the wheels. The bike is a blue or purple depending on the light.
Any thoughts or recomendations? I guess I could go with the plain aluminum look, or just stick with the black thats on the pair.

Do you have a clear picture of the bike, so that we can provide you with some advice??quakeholio wrote:I have a CB900C for those that don't know and I'm going to do a rear wheel upgrade on the bike. wheel paint
1...black wrinkle
2...powder coat to match panel paint
3...have them chromed
4...paint them black spokes and red rim
5... paint them gold like the yahama midnight special
6... cover them with discs to give them the "fat boy or v rod" look
7... leave them alone if they are in good shape
8...polish and clearcoat them
just a few ideas......T

The Gold sounds kinda cool. That 900 that Try put up is a real nice example, stock 4-4 looks realy good, and the paint just looks fantastic.
I know that this my bike has the faring on it, but thats my ride,

The 4-4 wasn't the best, and I got the drag pipes for a steal. This winter the cosmetic changes are going to be twin piston brakes and SS brake lines. If memory serves right that is all the changes to the look I'm planing on.
This is also the bike that I would be turning into a trike if I get my Goldwing.

Ohh, one other thing.
I'd put a shorter rear fender on, and wide flat track #10. 34" wide with a 5" rise bars. I think the bars would go right on with out mods and look AWESOME.
Other than that, the motorcycle is as perfect as you can get it.
Maybe take that grab bar off too.
And a wind deflector.
And don't forgoet to get an Oil cooler.

I just looked at the front wheel and see that the rim is held on by two pieces, both would need the same treatment, and I can't get them apart to do it right. Just going to clean it up.
Honda thought that the 900 needed an oil cooler, so the all left the factory with one, mine is just hidding right now. Over all I'm really happy with the way the bike looks, but if I had to paint it I guess it would become a Candy glory red as honda calls it. If you can't see the picture in you mind then look at the CBX.

I have never seen pics of a 900C trike, but then again I have rarly if ever seen pics of a modified 900C. The look I'm after is kinda like the idea of the naked goldwing, I wana look through it. There is just something about looking at the machines that have the stock motorcycle rear fender, with a swing arm built to hold onto the truck axle.

Thats about as wide as the whole bike frame at the swingarm . Later Good people . Maybe you don't have those pics yet but what mite be your ideas be on the swingarm and axle fitting anyways ?

I was talking about #10 Flattrack handlebars.
I think they are 33" or 34" wide.
I have them on my 77 GL1000. They are awesome. They are high enough to maintain upright possession, and really make you feel in control of the bike, because of the leverage.
And I think they look really cool too.
