a chance to ride in Japan

#1

Post by HOTT »

took a week to visit my kids in Japan. My eldest son & wife planned an awesome adventure
for my wife and I with bullet trains, hostels, shrines, restaurants, bicycles and motorcycles.
Did I say Motorcycle? In JAPAN ?!?!
We went to a shop that specializes in premium quality rentals. I got a fresh CB1100 and they
a beautiful 400 4 cyl. We will be riding in a country where its citizens are encouraged (read taxed) to ride 250cc and under. The shop had/did everything 1st class. (here I'm signing off on condition and function of the bike)

Of course I got about a zillion more, but you get the idea.
We wound up riding about an hour in the dark and cold to get back, but
hot tea and a great local restaurant put the cap on a perfect day :orange

Cool cool stuff. I'm a fan of Anime (Japanese animation), and a semi-common trope is riding a motorcycle along a coast road during a sunset. Always something I've wanted to do (but will probably have to settle for something the US).

Wickedly awesome stuff, but I would be lying if I said I'm not holding my breath for a Honda plant museum tour.... ;)
1997 Valkyrie- Light Cutomization, but Too Busy Riding
1980 KZ1300- Bike's Haunted
1976 GL1000 (Yellow)- Behaving Itself Rather Nicely
1974 Velosolex 3800- Better Than Walking
1972 CB750- Learning The Joys of 4 Cable Carbs
1969 CT90- The Most Fun You Can Have on 90ccs.
1965 CA77 Dream- Needs a Full Teardown, but Complete

All advice I give is only valid until an expert corrects me.

Totally cool. Especially the Marlboro Yamaha race bikes. I'm really jealous.
