This is where discussions of EFI systems, Dual Carbs, Single Carb mods and plans can be discussed and shared.

how resistant to backfiring is Tom Langdon's 2 barrel?

I really hope it's bullet proof

I'm in the middle of a nightmare trying to figure out why the tfi units and fancy coils so highly recommended by a huge crowd are attempting to destroy my engine

Explosive fireballs blasting through the carb.
Can't be good for anything

But is it destroying things in that progressive 2 barrel Carter from Langdon's?

I sure hope I can get this thing cleared up and go ride the thing.... bleh

I have no idea on that carb. But if you have backfiring through any carb like that I'd go back check the wiring on the ignition. Sounds like something might 180 degree's off. Or plug wires crossed.

No carb I know can handle that forever but the two barrel weber is more tolerant of that than the stock rack would be. Some have actually blown the tops off one or more of the slides. I agree something is wired in correctly in the ignition. Double check all your ignition wiring. Could be you are firing the coils backward or the plug wires are on the wrong plugs.

Still further investigation pending but it seems the solid core spark wires and high juice coils may have been interfering and false triggering the tfi modules I put in.

As soon as I get an alternator alignment issue straightened out I'll be back at it.

I've been told to put some resistors between hot and the trigger leads to make it less vulnerable.
