Single carb and manifold

#1

Post by Jim Bounds »

I am new to the forum here and have not looked all over for anything on this but I fitted a 32p Solex 1bbl. carb to my 75 GL1000 over 10 years ago and wondered if anyone else out there has done it. I actually moved the carb set up to the "new" 75 GL1000 I picked up and it seems to run better on it! I did this after 2 sets of carbs. gummed up so bad they just were not viable.

Had some hassles getting it to idle at 1000rpm but adding a vacuum gauge I can see when vacuum drops below 5" and can give it a bump on the throttle. Now have it tuned to work well with the electric choke so life is good. Once it's set up you just run it...

Anyone else out there do this, anyone interested in how it is done?
