Idea for fuel injection setup
I have been thinking about how to simplify the building of a fuel injection system for the my 1100 wing.
Basically I wanna build a plenum with a single throttle body and the injectors mounted on a single fuel rail inside the plenum, with the injectors pointing into the individual throats of the plenum. Think sealed rectangular box with 4 tubes to connect to the stock intake elbows, with fuel rail and injectors inside and a throttle body on one end.
Off course this would later get connected to a turbo....
I'm pretty sure it would work, but would I be paying a price with drive ability or poor idle quality?

Re: Idea for fuel injection setup
At idle the inside of your sealed box would be high vacuum
At WOT this would change to atmospheric pressure.
remember the difference between BAR & PSI

Re: Idea for fuel injection setup
if the fuel pressure regulator is inside the plenum, the fuel pressure would fluctuate up to 2 BAR

Re: Idea for fuel injection setup
"if the fuel pressure regulator is inside the plenum, the fuel pressure would fluctuate up to 2 BAR"
Yep, just like any other fuel injected engine. The fuel pressure regulator is usually referenced to engine vacuum/pressure. Basically you want to have the fuel pressure a set amount (i.e. 40 PSI) over what the pressure is at the tip of the fuel injector. That way the ECU does not have to compensate for varying pressure.
So, back to my question, will the drive ability be affected by this less than ideal, but simplified setup? I'm thinking that it should be better than a single carb or throttle body injection. But not as nice as a multi point injection where the injectors are aimed straight at a hot intake valve.
Does anyone have experience with a setup like this or something similar?

Re: Idea for fuel injection setup
Is installing an injector on each intake manifold, (drill &tap) an option? Does anyone use a flex hose of any kind to supply the injectors with fuel at the needed pressure? Probably not, but you never know. I think it would work if so. Anyone know how Honda did theirs? One of the sixes had injectors on each intake if my memory serves me. triwing

The intake layout on a Rotax is very much like a GoldWing's engine. It would not take much, in the way of mods, to use that set up on a GoldWing.

I recall one here, but like many it never got going.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.
