I am sure this is well known here by now, but just a little reinforcement in case you need it. . The following is from a GL1000 that got rebuilt a little over a year ago. The Emgo Goldwing look-alike fuel filter's glue disintegrated and got as far as the float valve seat screens. I cut it open for the pictures' sake. No permanent harm in this case, but not what you want to have in your precious carbies, eh?

Simple cure for that. Just put a decent filter downstream of the Emgo.

Yes, Sir.... we here are all well acquainted with the defective Emgo filters. And, some of us got acquainted on a more 'personal' basis. So much so that, we are now very leery of the 'new and improved' models. Trouble is, you don't know if you're getting a NOS defective filter or, a new one.

I hear ya. Of course Randakk has some good ones and that is what I am using, mostly, these days. But I have also just discovered factory Harley-Davidson filters and they seem to be pretty good.

Good to know. Thanks.
This is the reason I went wit Randakk's new High Performance filter. Was cheaper than the OEM one and should last indefinitely.
