Mikee Minute #2 -- Emgo Goldwing replacement fuel filters

I am sure this is well known here by now, but just a little reinforcement in case you need it. :-). The following is from a GL1000 that got rebuilt a little over a year ago. The Emgo Goldwing look-alike fuel filter's glue disintegrated and got as far as the float valve seat screens. I cut it open for the pictures' sake. No permanent harm in this case, but not what you want to have in your precious carbies, eh? :-)

Simple cure for that. Just put a decent filter downstream of the Emgo.

Yes, Sir.... we here are all well acquainted with the defective Emgo filters. And, some of us got acquainted on a more 'personal' basis. So much so that, we are now very leery of the 'new and improved' models. Trouble is, you don't know if you're getting a NOS defective filter or, a new one.

I hear ya. Of course Randakk has some good ones and that is what I am using, mostly, these days. But I have also just discovered factory Harley-Davidson filters and they seem to be pretty good.

This is the reason I went wit Randakk's new High Performance filter. Was cheaper than the OEM one and should last indefinitely.

Was only $20 shipped to my door.

Thanks Mike, always good to have refreshers especially for the newer members that don't always read the tech tips or go through ShopTalk.
