I was just looking around ebay and noticed a copper single carb intake manifold sweat soldered together for a GL. I never thought of using copper for an intake, not that I want it but as a former plumber it fascinates me.
Any trouble with the lead solder or copper and fuel?
Would have linked it but I wasn't sure that was cool.
Copper intake? Never heard of that.

I'm pretty sure the link would be fine? The mods will be in shortly to answer the question I'm sure. As far as copper and solder and fuel... The filler section of the fuel tank is copper on my 1100. Don't see any problem with the minute amount of lead that the fuel traveling through the intake may pick up. As a plumber you know lead free would be an option? Build your own (always cooler that way)

OK, Here`s the link..http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOLEX-Single-Ca ... 16&vxp=mtr
Short of the radiator hose/VW plenum this looks pretty simple. Getting the solder to stick in some of those joints would be tough, maybe they brazed some of them.
