What should I price a CI single carb kit?

Post by wingrider »

Hey all,

Hopefully I can ask this question here...if not, moderators are welcome to delete it.

Many years ago, (1994) I picked up a Cycle Innovations single carb kit to put on our sidecar rig, but ended up never putting it on. It sat on the shelf till now, and I just pulled it down to get my 77 up and running.

It did just fine getting her started and ran good, but after reading a bit on here and on Randakk's site, it would appear that I would benefit from sending it down the road, and using the money to put dual Webers on in anticipation of the dual blowers.

What I don't know is how much to sell it for. I can't seem to find any for sale to see what they go for. I don't want to give it away, but I don't want to gouge someone either.

Has anyone seen a complete set up, including instruction book go up for sale recently? Any guidance of how much to ask?

Thanks for any help. :)

That was kind of the ballpark I was thinking of...just didn't know if I was realistic or not.

With all due respects to those who have, well let's say don't like the CI conversion, I've had mine on for 9yrs. +/- without much diffculty. I'd dismissed what any thing bad said about this kit. Like all kits it's the need to fine tune it and follow the CI manual. I will respectfully disagree about the price,... to me and those who value these conversions, they're pricless. Especially when never knowing the real experience of the OEMs'. I myself, would keep it, fine tune and ride it!! I will also point out, if you want to rebuild your OEMs, then do by one Randall suggests!! hippie1 Robert White

Glad you like your set up....it'll bring a better price to mine then! :) With all seriousness, this set up will not work with my future set up....The manifold isn't right for dual superchargers. :D

As far as the stock carbs...Randakk's kit is undoubtedly one of the best, but when you are missing 45 pieces of the original carbs, there is only so much the kit can do. Having said that, I do have one of Randakk's kit to put in the 78. :)
