You made an excellent suggestion, Jeff! Flat black is easier to my eyes, and patience, than trying to deal with an off color attempt to match the fairing, side covers, and the "Electric Blue" Lester.Fred Camper wrote:Nothing wrong with flat black on the front fender, the tire is black anyway and a flat black fender just kind of blends in.
I believe I'd read several posts earlier this year about painting and/or powder coating over chrome.
Seems I recall to lightly scuff the chrome prior to painting was the recommendation. If so, should I apply a "self etching primer", first? ( I have an unused rattle can sitting in my shop) Dupli-color "Self-etching" primer.-- A pastel greenish color.
The paint is chipping, flaking off the front Lester. I'm not going to attempt any repaint until next year. It appears to have been shot with a silver base, as witnessed by the underside of a flake, then the Blue was painted over the silver.
It is what it is. i MUST get the trike ready to ride, safely and legally for the remainder of this year. Aesthetics are low on the list this season. Don't the rotors look swell? Sanding off the glaze with 180 grit sandpaper worked well.Since I already have H-D Dyna mufflers, and Road King air shock take-offs, why not another H-D
item, too!

Thanks fellas!! All of your input is very much welcomed, and appreciated by this old guy!!
