Stop weeping. Er, fix a leaky coolant overflow tube

This might be the shortest how to ever written. If, like me, you have replaced your coolant overflow tank lines with new line from the hardware store, it might not be as snug as OEM line. Pretty soon, and now that I have mentioned it, you may notice coolant weeping around the cap of the overflow tank. To tighten the connection up, place a piece of heat shrink tubing over the line and the goose neck, and then hit it with a heat gun. For fun, use a second piece of heat shring tubing and do it again. The heat from the heat gun warms the plastic tubing at the same time as the heat shrink tubing shrinks, working in a clamp-like fashion to tighten the plastic tube around the gooseneck. A hose clamp can be added, as shown in the photo, but you really don't need it. I did not quite get the clamp on all the way before I took the picture as you can see. I tested the connection prior to putting the clamp on, and the weeping/leaking had completely stopped.

Someday you may see a Bradshaw Bikes "heat shrink hose clamp". lol

Now I have to go get under the shelter again (did it yesterday) and check that hardware store hose. Just replaced it when I was putting the bike together this Spring.

Good tip, Brother.
