Hey Annie's Boyfriend , here is a pic on my tanks as I bought them before I prepped for paint roughlty to show you what was done to them . The round indentation you see on the top side about half way down would not have to be fabricated that way cause no gauges will be put in there .
If you are not sure of the mounting , I'll walk you through with pics and explanations . Hope this helps , anything else just ask away .
P . S ; After this answer we'll move this thread to the GoldWing Undergound Customizing Postings .

You can leave the bags on, but the trunk ( Top box) have to go. flamer
The trunk has been removed, sidewinds are not that much of a problem anymore, the fairing will be ditched as soon as I find a nice headlight that fits my needs but I haven't found one sofar
Thats the seat I have is a harley softail ; I took the back holding rail off though , oh and thats a harley road king rear pad there .
And the headlight replacement I just paid $32. canadian and built my oun mounting that bolted to the braked junction block in the front there , the head light also has a highbeam idiot light signifying thAT HIGH BEEM IS ON .light .Oh and the tank you could make that fit , first taking that mounting clip off the top fron you see and smooth that out , would be wide like my tank is on each side of the frame , could build a flat panel I made for the tank I have .
If you would like more detailed pic of a curtain area please let me know , If I don't have that pic , I'll get the digital cam back out os all . If something I'm saying is not quite clear , I'll be happy to clear it up , just specify . For some more detail se my album in the lounge .
Later A B .

hey bart, if the original mounting ears are still on the forks, take the light assembly out of the fairing it should mount right to the stock ears. at least till you can afford somthing better........T

That pannel looks nice, but what if I leave it open, paited black inside ( between the two frametubes) like this one Try found :
and then add a nice chromed airfilter, sticking out a bit
That GL is Hot , Annie's boyfriend , you pic what is hot to you , getting all these ideas is a great start . But the one Try has posted , I really like that GL , WOW . I see that the top mounting ears where not removed cause those tanks are mounted low enough to weld a mounting bolt to the frame for that top tank bracket . You'll let us know what you decide eh ? LOL . Later eh !

I tried that already but I think my fairing is one of the older types that don't have a insidebowl that comes off.
I'm gonna have to live with it for a while....
