Front tire compatability

I have a 1980 gl1100 and am wondering if a 1983 front rim will fit in the standard 1980 forks? Will the 1980 spacers work or is a custom fit required? :?: Thanks for the help. Mike T

wheels from an 1100 are the same fit 80-83. I think you can also use a 1200 wheel, but you will have to use the 1200 rotors and calipers.

Just wanderin BlackGold isn't the GL 1200s have a 16 " front tire that is wider than the 1100s 18 " ?
Now it may fit , I'm not sure there though !

The front tire on my 80 is a 100/90/19. as long as the wheel fits the forks, you should be able to come up with a tire that is the right width. Try should be able to tell us what size they actually are as he has a 1200.
