75 wing exhaust

#1

Post by confish86 »

I have a question on the exhaust on the 75 gl1000 wing , where every time i see them listed it`s for the 76-up ?? Is there a big difference in 75 to a 76 :?: . I`d hate to get a 75 and find out that there is little for that year . I`m sure i`m wrong and a little stupid when it comes to a wing so bear with me. I also would like to know what year GL 1000 is best or should i just get a GL1100 :?:

Thanks Gerard

I really don't know, I think all GL's are quite good.

Don't forget the GL1200 Std, less maintenance than GL10 and GL11.

welcome confish86........

the style of exhaust varies with personal taste,as you will see when looking through the galleries of wings..........

you will find also if you stick around the site, that the guys here are pretty adept at modifying things to suit their own personal styles....

brother zryder for instance has his wing how he wants, with his own style..........(get the idea my friend?)

whatever you choose confish86,will be whatever suits,or takes your fancy....... then we are here to help you create the look you personally want...

dont matter which you get, gl1000 or any of the larger ones...
you will make it your own personal ride, how you want+like it........

enjoy your stay with us,and join in our discussions often....
get ideas, and post ideas for us to see.give us your 2 cents.....................

safe riding my friend....

Great to see you getting around confish86 , as Bandanna says , we do have two gents here who know alot about parts swapping from one GL to another . But for mine and exhaust , I have a 76 GL 1000 headers matched to a harley slip on mufflers on my 82 GL 1100 std. All simply bolt ons . As Try says , all the GLs are great its the personal touch that say you . And looking at the photo albums you get many ides , So once again Enjoy Chum .

Thank you very much , and i`m looking foward to doing something i hope soon. The biggest thing is , do i buy something with higher milage that has been ridden alot or buy something that has sat that`ll need to get running ?? I spent month`s getting an 86 Concours going after 7 years of sitting, and i also have a 1970 Yamaha R5 that has been sitting since 1981 in a shed. I`m still trying to find cables and stuff for it. Does Honda still carry parts for the GL1000`s ?

Really nice ride you have there, and it`s funny i had to to a better look to make sure. Your bike looks so much like the guy across from me , which i never seem to hook up with . I guess i`ll have to make a great effort to go over there and get some pics and get him hooked up with this forum.
