caliper update

Post by bulldog »

Hi

Have just been on Bikebandit to look at the online parts fiche and although mine is registered as an 1981 american import it cant be as it has the twin piston caliper from an 82/83 not the single piston they are showing for an 81. Having checked the part numbers for the goldwing 82/83 calipers compared to the CBX the part number which is 139360 for the bodies are different in all three cases. So we now know that although the actual body appears to look the same they are not. The original owner has no longer got the correct calipers so that idea is out of the question. My main problem now is identifying the actual year my bike was made can anybody help with that type SC02 - 4104633 so i can find out which caliper it requires for 1982 or 1983. To add to the problem it does not say which style it is on the registration just GL1100 although she is faired

Cheers for that Bandana. It seemed from that site she is euro model, so I rang Dave Silver and it seems that she is a 81 GL1100 DB deluxe model UK spec that should have had single pot calipers on and as they have been discontinued I need to source second hand ones with the hangers. Not sure why she is saying declared manufactured on the log book when she is English, only answer I can think of is she was owned by someone who left England for a few years then came back again
