Oh Canada!

Post by Dangeruss »

Just finished a 1700 mi trip through British Columbia Canada. A few buddies and I have done the "Hot Springs Ride" for 5 years now. Here is our route this year.

Image

If you have never ridden is Canada, you are in for a treat! Almost no traffic, great twisty roads, unparalleled scenery, and the friendliest folks on the planet. We rode the N. Cascade Highway and camped in Winthrop the first night.

Got an early start the next day and rode up to Halcyon Hot Springs the next. I'll tell you right now, there is nothing like a Hot Spring after a day of riding. The next day we rode down south to Ainsworth Hot Springs and took in a mid afternoon soak. Ahhhhhh......... that's me on the left.

Here is a sample of some of the scenery along the way back to the campground.

We then went north to Revelstoke and then west to the small town of Lillaoot for another night of camping. We then looped around through Whistler to Vancouver and took the ferry to Nanimo on Vancouver Island, then rode to the resort town to Tofino on the west coast of the island.

The view on the way to Whistler.......

Got up the next morning and rode to Victoria and took the Black Ball ferry to Port Angeles, then home via Hwy 101. The Wing rode flawlessly as usual, I love tearing up the miles on this bike! I did have some trouble keeping up with the modern sport bikes in the tight twisties, I need more ground clearance! I was scraping pegs and still being left behind. There is plenty more tire to use, just cant lean her over far enough (yet). The sport bike guys were certainly envious of my comfortable ride at the end of the day though. :8)

That is some beautiful countryside.
Road our "76" across the country in 78 and did BC and Vancouver Island.
I remember the Hot Springs being almost too hot.
Almost stayed on that side of Canada but returned and life continued.

The group I ride with did a similar trip 5 years ago. Canadian Rockies are awsome. It was one of the best trips I've ever been on.
