1st annual "jan-Jan memorial ridge ride

#1

Post by Rowdy-Ohio »

Just got back at 10:00 pm last night (Saturday) just as it started to rain in Nerk from the 1st annual "Jan-Jan memorial ridge ride" :crosso - I hit only the curvy roads as much as possible in SE Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina & Tenn. dancr (no GPS's used on this trip) good ol fashion maps & trust'n a wrong turn will get you back to civilization :) 1500 miles total in 4 days and about 6,000 curves :-) better that Deals Gap :-) ;)

Ohio 146 - 313 - 147 - 800 - 536 crossed at New Martinsville
West Va 20 - 19 - 15 - 219 - 39 - 60 (only side tracked on an alternate route in error for a few miles :| ) then found the Blue Ridge Parkway
Virginia, North Carolina Roanoke to Boone on the Parkway (some work delays on the parkway - short hold ups) then on to Shady Valley 421 - 191 - 58 loop "The Snake" then back to Ohio on Rt 16 thru West Virginia crossed back into Ohio at St. Mary's.

519 miles Saturday from Blowing Rock NC back to Nerk using the parkway and Rt 16 and one brunch stop - :-)

I stopped into to see on of Jan's cousins in Buckhannon West Va (actually 30 miles out in the wilderness from that city :-? ) and had a good visit (man she lived back in the sticks - I really needed an ATV instead of the bike - I could have sworn I herd banjo music in the distance :guitar ) - Then I tried to connect with my cousin in Boone NC, but he just happened to be out of town - I think he knew I was coming - LOL - could not catch up with a biker buddy who lived in the area - communications fu fu !!!! Oh well had good time riding the curvy roads. crossy.gif

Sounds like an great trip with a lot of meaning to you. I just did 70 to WV 28 to Maretta Oh and then back on Rt 555 on Saturday. ABout 300 miles. We should ride together sometime. I'm a stones throw from you, over in Pataskala.
