Dyna ignition coil wire came off on a '77 GL1000

Hi guys, I am to to this fourm and I hope you can help me. I have a '77GL1000 that I have started to get back in running order after sitting for 10 years. I wanted to check the resistance in the plug wire on the bike, so I gave a gentle twist to the wire boot at the housing and out came a bare wire. The coils are aftermarket, Dyna DC1-1 i believe. Can anyone tell me how to get the wire back in the coil? I can see a brass piece in the hole, I tried to pull it out lightly with a pair of needle nose pliers, but I didnt want to yank on it if it was not supposed to come out. Anyways, I hope someone here can tell me how to get the wire back in the coil.
Thanks

the wires going into the coils are just screwed in....screw must have come loose. Obviously there is a connector on th end of the wire, that then screws into the coil.

The wires on the stock coils are soldered on, dc1-1 screws.

I believe you're talking about the plug wire, correct? If so, that copper piece should pull out, just like an automotive plug wire. Sounds like you'll need some new wire. I do have some (shameless plug ;) ) on my web site @: http://www.crescentmoonunlimited.com/ht ... ition.html
