Well, Bob finally responded! He said he could make me one for $55 shipped. I asked him if he's interested in doing more and am awaiting the reply.

I think we might have more interest at this price point. What does everyone else think??

His reply:

"Garrett:
sorry for the late reply, just got in from a short vacation.... I can make you an adapter this week if you want one,
I haven't posted them on Ebay for a while, I make them for Randakk (now part of Revival Parts LLC in Tampa) they keep me busier than I really want to be. Have not been on NGW for a year or so, sold my bike since I had to quit riding on account of advancing Geezerhood. (me and the bike.. rode it for 23 years) It might be more expedient to get one from Randakk, check them out and let me know what you decide. My price is $55.00 shipping included.
Let me know if you want one from me,

Backyard Bob"

Sorry to hear he sold his bike. it was a one of a kind and probably in the top 10 of all 1000's for the most mileage. I know he was over 400,000 miles. Very glad to hear he is up and around.

Also glad to hear he is up and about, enjoying a vacation. If possible I would buy one too, no rush for me, whenever he feels up to it.

Does anyone know off the top of their head if this same adapter will work On the 70s CBs? I would love to have one on the shelf for my upcoming CB750 project. To my, they sure look the same.

Ok. I was just a bit confused because there seem to be 2 listed through the current version of randakks and as previously mentioned it's kinda ugly

70s Cb750s are compatible, they use identical housings and filters to the GL from all the research I've done.

I have a '76 750 as well, but it has an adapter with the external oil cooler.
