Planes!
Ok I gotta ask... any other NGW aviators here? If there’s a machine I love more than my GL, it’s absolutely an aeroplane. I fly a bunch of stuff but this one’s my favorite... for the moment.

Re: Planes!
Not lucky (or rich) enough to be able to fly a small plane, but for my 40th my mum and sister paid for me to go up in a Tiger Moth, great experience, and open to the elements!
Previous Rides,
1980 CB250N Good to learn on
1981 CX500 good mid range tourer, went to Austria on it!
1983 GL1100C Pride and joy, sold when I bought my 1st house, big mistake
1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter
1989 Suzuki GS750 (1976) cheap and cheerful until a dog ran out in front of me on Xmas Eve, 1991
Current bikes
2010 CB1300 back on a bike after 19 years, two divorces, children grown up etc
1980 GL1100 NOW ON THE ROAD, still use CB1300.

Re: Planes!
Tiger moth! What an awesome piece of flying history. Haven’t had the pleasure of riding in one of them. I’m not rich enough either lol... I’ll be paying off student loans for flight school for another 15 years to come I guess it’s something you have to have an extreme love for (or lack of sense) to get intochewy999 wrote:Not lucky (or rich) enough to be able to fly a small plane, but for my 40th my mum and sister paid for me to go up in a Tiger Moth, great experience, and open to the elements!

Re: Planes!
Flying is a definite NO for me.
Here is a picture which includes me. This was taken last weeking while on tour with my buddies.
I am the bearded guy on the right making a GL1800 look small.
Planes are not built for someone of my stature.

Re: Planes!
I’m so old that the plane I've spent the most time in is a Lockheed Constellation (just the early version, not the 'Super Conny') .... was an Air Steward on those waaaayyy back when .... got some stories from those days for next time we're sitting around a campfire ....

"Connie" is one of the best looking commercial lady's ever ( Opinion ) Very complicated piece of technology in the day. Father inlaw spent lots of time in them as C121's

Re: Planes!
On my bucket list to get my pilots license one day, at least an S-LSA rating. Not sure I could ever own one, but sure would like to fly a Piper Cub style tail dragger off a grass field one day!
