Honda upper Balljoints

#1

Post by salukispeed »

Has anyone done upper ball-joints on a 2000 Prelude base mode. They press into the upper control/"A" arm and looks fairly tough but straight forward. Upper and lower arms with a coil over type strut in the center. Helpful hints appreciated!!

If they are pressed in..you will be ahead of the game to borrow or rent a ball joint press. It makes the job much easier.
I've never worked on a prelude and I don't know how much room you will have to attempt changing it on the car.

If you don't have the "pickle fork" for separating the spindle and ball joint..often some good solid hits on the spindle right where the ball joint "stud" goes through it will break it lose.
This video appears pretty good as far as showing you how to remove the upper control arm. You will need to remove the strut to accomplish this.

If I was going this and going that far..I would replace the lower ball joints as well.
