Actually the reason I have not updated this is because it is not fixed

I got the cabinets and sink installed on Tuesday and the water backed up again. So yesterday I spent the day working with a snake. I could get about 25 foot in from where I connected the new pipe and it would stop. I tried for about 3 hours but could not grind through whatever the obstacle is. The problem is that I am not sure where under the slab the pipes run. I can feel a couple of turns when working the snake but can not tell if they are right or left or what.

I talked to a local pro plumber and he has volunteered to help me out. Not sure if it will be today or Monday. We talked on the phone for quite a while last night and he understands what I am facing. He has a power blaster tube thing he wants to try and if that fails I think with 2 hopefully one can operate the snake and the other can listen and locate where the stoppage is. Then I can get out the jackhammer again!

It is frustrating but I am determined, so I will succeed ( I Hope )

Yea I looked at renting a camera but the ones they have here are only about 20 foot long. Plus I think they require a 3 inch or bigger pipe. So not an option for this evolution. They do rent a machine that helps trace the pipe but again it is only 20 foot long. You insert a wire/ cable with a signal transmitted down it into the pipe and then you can trace a signal using a special sensor. $200 a day for that one.

Going to try a couple old fashioned tricks before i spend a bunch more money on test equipment.

You need to borrow a camera from the Doc.

They fit in small pipes and are at least 150 ft long!

So yesterday a Friends husband a professional plumber came out there with me for a couple hours. We tried a couple different bladder blaster things and nothing worked. Finally he pulled out an old Metal detector and I got a good idea on where the line runs. So today I go to Harbor Freight and buy a metal detector and map it out good then I rent the jack hammer again. I will win

The first house we lived in was on a slab. Similar thing. Washer was draining and started backing up into the tub. Old cast iron sewer pipe had rusted through. Dug it up from the bathroom, through a closet and bedroom to the connecting pipe outside. The kitchen and laundry were in a different part. On that we dug down and ran new pipe from the back of the house and then around to connect to the original sewer pipe. Cheaper and easier than digging up the floor through a living room and another closet and bedroom.

May I make a suggestion. Instead of the jack hammer use a hammer drill. Drill through the concrete along the pipe then break it up with a sledge hammer. The pounding of the jack hammer "could" cause other issues in the house. Either way it will be a very dusty mess. Probably don't want to lice there while doing the work. Also remove items hanging on the wall. The vibration even using a drill can knock things off.

The first hole I did was accomplished with a hammer drill and sledge. Then once I determined that the pipe was not salvageable I rented the Jack hammer. I will probably have to do that again today. My concern is where are the supply lines? I really do not want to get into those if I can avoid it so a "precision Strike" will be the better option. It takes a lot longer but is the safer route for sure.

Have you thought about approaching it from outside the house where it connects to the sewer line? May be plugged somewhere other than under the slab. It wouldn't surprise me if you didn't have to replace the entire drain line inside and outside given the condition of the pipe so far.
