Retirement

When you have time on your hands, and your friends are nuts, you come up with some strange ideas. Space is at a premium since most Florida homes don't have basements so you need a hobby that doesn't take up a lot of room.
Besides being a fireman, I spent 30 years on a drafting board and then about 10 doing CAD work.

Now I make hats. Really stupid party hats. Out of aluminum, LED's, and circuit boards of my own design to run the LED's.

I'm talking Stooooopid with at least 5 "O's" in it. SunnBobb will be happy to see that I did take the time to polish mine. you will notice that I have them dressed up for Christmas. There are optional ostrich plumes for other holidays.

Here's one for a buddy. He's a barber from Columbus and a huge Ohio State fan.
Anybody notice a problem with this Ohio State fans hat???

That's true Rat. But the fire helmet weighs near two pounds so even though the hat may last, my neck may not.

The 1000 was running perfect. But, with 3 days of rain ahead I decided to pull the carbs and clean them. Took me three tries to finally get it back to where it was before I started. Getting old sucks.

On the other hand, I've made a hat for my brother-in-law. He saw a couple of the others and wanted one. His only request was that it play bagpipe music (Scottish donchaknow).

Here it is...such as it is. The Scottish Gaelic on the front is alleged to say "I fish, and I golf, and I hunt". Whiskerfish may appreciate the 30-06 rounds on the side. Yes, that is a sailfish dorsal on top, and it's possibly the only hat in the world with outriggers. It's hard to see but the little tag on the rear says "You're still away". I heard that a lot when I used to play golf.

They look great, but I have a phobia about hats.

Many years ago, my sister and I went horse riding. My mum took us to into Nottingham to buy a riding hat, and after trying many on, I had to have the biggest one they had in the shop.

AND I WAS ONLY 8!!!!

With bike helmets I have an XL, while Karen has an XXS!!!!!

lolol lolol lolol
Previous Rides,
1980 CB250N Good to learn on
1981 CX500 good mid range tourer, went to Austria on it!
1983 GL1100C Pride and joy, sold when I bought my 1st house, big mistake
1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter
1989 Suzuki GS750 (1976) cheap and cheerful until a dog ran out in front of me on Xmas Eve, 1991
Current bikes
2010 CB1300 back on a bike after 19 years, two divorces, children grown up etc
1980 GL1100 NOW ON THE ROAD, still use CB1300.

That's how all festive hats should be.
Amazing work, congratulations!
