These Plugs are more than 2-years old, and have a bunch of miles?? on them.

I will be changing them soon, they are worn

Here is the Spark plugs from the Left side Cyl.'s

They are a very nice Tan, slightly darker tan, or on the very Slightly Richer side of perfect.

Not running Lean at all, or running to rich, they are a perfect example

These were taken in very bright, & direct sunlight

I should have put a white piece of paper behind the plugs,

as that back ground makes then look slightly lighter than they really are.

Engine is very happy

I have not been updating as zi do not see a lot of interest here as there is at two other gold wing site.

No question or communication.

So if you are interested in this It really Works Great, the Carb we are all using is the One that Works Right out of the box No re-jetting

You can see MANY, MANY more posts and there is a LOT interest at these other sites, there are several people that have already converted and ABSOLUTELY Love it.

Both threads have some of the same Info but also have different Info, and different people providing their own success stories.

Here is a couple of links

I like the idea of a single carb, I got my 79 GL1000 from Holland a week back to the UK and have started to strip everything off; it is going to be a total rebuild from the ground up. The twist grip doesn't work any more, so the carb's are foobarb. I can't be bothered to boil the things for a week to get 2mm of movement or crud off what is basically a bunch of crap crabs too start with. So this looks the ideal solution. I have the chance of a FORD - Weber 28 / 32 TLDM Auto auto-choke Carburettor, it is new but never used, the auto chock can be removed, hopefully I can get it for maybe £40.00 but where the hell do you get the VW plenum for the conversion? is it a standard plenum on what VW. Old beetle or bus?

So any help on this will be great. I read some stuff on old wings forum too but you guy's are all about 1100's and not the 1000. Not that I see a lot off difference. Ian

Hello Westgl, You say weber 32 dft, but as I recall this carb was used on many engines with many different factory chokes and jettings.
Sometimes webers are numbered with a suffix, such as 32 DFT 70 or 32 DFT A3. Does Yours also have that?

Hello All,
I'm working on an 84 1200, and have purchased a carb from Tom, as well as the EMPI plenum set. Problem- THEY DON'T BOLT UP!!!

The carb flange is smaller than the Plenum!!

I can modify the plenum fairly easily, but obviously prefer not to.

What do NGW Club?

Restore my hope!

I did Not modify the plenum at all.

I took a rotary file bit in my dremel tool and opened up the mounting holes in the carb there is a lot of meat around those mounting holes, took me about a 1/2 hour or less very easy just go slow and keep checking.

It is much easier than modding the plenum, I do not have any vacuum leaks at all.

I've been following this thread waiting for the final verdict. I've found the intake but I still haven't found any Weber 32/34 carbs. Can you get a part number for your carb. I'm dying to convert my GL1000 over to a single carb setup. Also, do you have any specifics about the tubing/hose you used. I'm not sure what the technical name for it is and I'd like to be able to get that locally. Thanks man, keep us updated!
