Departure is scheduled for Wednesday morning. Headed from here to Battle Mountain Nv to spend the night with hmratbam (Ron). From there on to Grand Junction Co. then on to the Pikes Peak area. If things go according to schedule I will spend a day and a half there doing some sight seeing. So far the long range forecast looks very nice. Hope that holds up! It has been an awesome trip so far!!

Left yesterday morning about 6. Headed down 5 then onto 66 at Ashland Or. The first 20 miles or so of that is one HAIRY MOFO!!! Sharp corners and super quick dips and climbs on the side of the mountain and most without even a guardrail. Wild Ride for sure!! Took that over to 140 which was much more civilized. Then to 95 down to 80 to Battle Mountain where I spent a very enjoyable evening with Ron (hmratbam). Got to drive his hotrod and got a serious lesson on one of my other hobbies! Yesterday was 595 miles.

Then this morning on 80 to Salt Lake City. Jumped on 15 south and got slammed with construction traffic. 5 lanes into 2 so the backup was very long. Finally made it through that mess and got off on 6 and headed South East. Once out of town it was Beautiful. Had to dodge a couple of Thunderstorms but got lucky for the most part. Dropped down and picked up 70 and ran into Grand Junction Co. Today was 585 miles.

Tomorrow is sight seeing in Colorado. From here to up to Glenwood Springs on the slab then jump off on 82 and head down to Aspen. Through Aspen then down to 24 and over to Pikes Peak. I will do the peak tomorrow or Saturday depending on Weather.

So The crossing into Colorado today is my 50th State. I been to them all now. Some by Helicopter some as a kid with the family and some in my car and some on the bikes.

If you climb the mountain to the Eisenhower tunnel, not sure if you are going that way to Pikes Peak,, you will pass thru a little town called Dillon. Just before the tunnel, and it has a nice little mountain lake which is the water supply for Denver. Heck of a down hill run. Spent a winter, and a summer there many years ago. More fun in the summer. I have fond memories of the area
