I am waiting for the float valves to finish up the carbs. How the heck do I get the seat/filter out of the carb?

the sun has been out the past two days and so in the afternoon I began to start priming the 77 frame. I was able to wire brush and random orbital sand it a bunch inside, but being out doors is so much nicer. You will notice the red primer over the self etching. this allows me to see a lot of the scratches and pits when I wet sand it. Then a coat of a primer/filler which I will take nearly off. I will probably do a two-stage urethane primer over it all, and hung up on a rack in the garage. But that will take a warm day.

So a question. Do I save the long in the tooth frame decals on my 78 as they are OEM. Or remove

It is not the builders plate on the gooseneck. But you are right that it is rivited on. This one is on a downtube with tire pressure etc.

Powder coated a sub frame. It amazingly fit into the toaster oven in the shop. I would never use the house oven

When I painted over the winter, I set up a plastic "tent" in the garage and warmed it up with a kero heater. I just made sure the heater was off when I was painting to minimize air movement. Something to consider if you get restless. Otherwise, the days are getting longer and ...

I like to be able to have lots of ventilation. In one garage I put in an attic vent fan so that it actually vented INTO the garage and then with the garage door partially opened out to the driveway. Also meant the paint did not "float around" as much, and I was tedning to get a lot of fresh air (and yes I do where a mask

Six months and finally back to work. Has been a cold spring, a couple of long trips and suddenly it is June.
I put an attic fan into the ceiling of the shop/garage. It actually blows into the garage to exhaust the paint fumes. I also built a frame out of 2x4's to hang parts...

Wow, great progress. Looking nice. Nice frame to hang parts too, it is a pita (aka a type of bread) otherwise.
