Garage time has been hard to come by, but I did get a little more accomplished. I did finish the seat, but I am considering taking it back off and trimming the foam more so I can put a thin membrane layer over the foam between the vinyl cover. (Remember this started as a big fat King Queen aftermarket seat, trimmed for a 75 cover) I am undecided on the strap. I'm open to your opinion.
Now that the air deflectors are painted, I was able to install the radiator.
Also took the original shocks apart to clean, polish and paint the rusty coils. ( The set on it where said to come off a wing, but way to soft)
While watching paint dry, I started to mess with the exhaust a little. Once I weld the adapters/extensions on, I will paint the header pipes black. I won't be putting the chrome tins back on.

Wife got stuck in Florida with flights home canceled due to blizzard, and I'm snowed in in Michigan.
Fortunately carb parts under the tree for me.
Great time to boil and rebuild the carburetors. :)

If you're so inclined, I highly recommend a good ceramic coat for the headers. I did the paint thing on mine for a while, but it turned into a job I needed to re-do every couple years.

I just got my entire stock exhaust ceramic coated and it looks absolutely wonderful. And only cost as much as a comparable powder coat job. Couple hundred bucks, maybe.

Food for thought.

Looks like the previous owner had some troubles.
I was told he rebuilt them with a cheap kit, which bummed me out thinking the OE brass was gone. Apparently a cheap kit is a hit with a wrench. Lol

Fortunately it looks like they have not been touched. Still have Honda needles and seats. Or at least have the screens on them. I already have honda replacements and they where not terrible inside.

Looks like the float needle was stuck and he used a wrench instead of a screwdriver handle to 'tap' it …

Poor choice of tools …
