Janis lives!
Just took Janis for her first ride in ten years +. A little rough, but she still has some gas from the last ride in there. I put a couple of gallons of fresh 93 in and some B12 Chemtool. I think it will come around. Just waking up from a long rest. Now I'm going to drain the coolant and get to taking the apart for belts before one goes bad.

Fuel pump went poopy. I think I'll go electric. I like the looks of the original but electric simplifies the situation. It's better this way. I can't be riding it around with old belts. They won't be here until the twenty fifth of August. I'm usually pretty patient, but it's getting to me.

Re: Janis lives!
Just checked Amazon. Shows I have an order history of 4 times for Gates T274 timing belts. current price is $19.02 each.
Order today, July 27th, free delivery with a prime subscription by Friday, July 30th. (my birthday!)
I have a prime subscription. Don't know whether that makes a significant difference for shipping speed, though. Check it out.

Just now looked. It says order now 18 in stock. If I would have waited a week. I would have got them quicker.

Re: Janis lives!
That was the first place I went. A week before I ordered showed in stock. Got the wife in to order the next week, and the only one that said that they had them was Jegs. I even went to my local NAPA and they said they could order them, but they didn't know when they would come in,because they were out of stock at the warehouse. I checked again Saturday and they were back in stock, said they could have them in four days. Forty dollars a piece. I'm just gonna wait. My luck is just like that.

Re: Janis lives!
Now I gotta get on the fuel pump thing. Figure I can get her to get them ordered this weekend. I can do these things, but my wife is kinda a control freak on the money thing. I figure it ain't worth fighting over. I just play the game.

Re: Janis lives!
Yep, those oem fuel pumps are spendy. The one I just replaced lasted 38 years, so there's that. What are you thinking about for an electric pump with the pressure and flow to match the original. Curious.
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.
1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug.
